So you’ve just broken up with your boyfriend. But after crying your heart out and releasing all the pain, hurt and frustration, you realize that you’re still deeply in love with him and you want him back. Then you suddenly hear from a friend that your ex has just started dating a new girl!

This can be a soul-crushing news for you. But throw a fit or go on a crying session, take a deep breath and calm yourself. There might be a new girl in your ex boyfriend’s life but that doesn’t mean that he’s off limits. Relationships immediately after a break up are usually rebound relationships. This means that your ex is probably not over you yet and just dating another girl to keep his mind off of you. In these instances, you can still get him to come back to you; you just have to know the right techniques to get him interested in you again.

If you’re one of the many girls who keep asking them million-dollar question, ‘how do I get my ex boyfriend back when he already has a girlfriend’, then read on and follow these tips:

• Never insult your ex’s girlfriend. If you do, you are going to blow off even the slightest chance of getting back together with him. In the event that you run into your ex and he introduces you to her, just keep your cool and smile. You might find everything wrong with this new girl, but resist the urge to call her names or throw rude, sarcastic comments at her. Instead, act friendly and even give her a compliment.

This will work to your advantage because it will throw off your ex who naturally expects a negative reaction from you. When he sees that taking everything in stride it will confuse him and make him wonder why you’re so cool with it. It’s likely that he will start thinking about you again after this encounter.

• Be a friend to him but don’t always be available. If you and your ex has decided to become friends after the breakup and are on good speaking terms, eventually he might share with you some aspects of his new relationship. Like a good friend, just lend a listening ear to him but don’t make yourself available at all times. Don’t let the conversation stretch for very long periods of time – stay long enough for a little chit-chat then leave afterwards. Women who seem to be unavailable and hard to reach attract men more. You can gain more of his attention this way.

• Never beg him to come back. If your relationship is mentioned in any of your conversations with your ex, never slip in comments that you want him back. Talk about the happy moments but never bring in the bad times. Also, show him that you appreciate those times with him but you also acknowledge that what is between you is over. He might then start to wonder about you and the relationship more and might long to have the old times back.
